​Kaleidoscope Youth Theatre, a project of The Summit Playhouse, is an educational and community service providing quality drama for and by youth since 1993. Having staged over 40 youth productions, Kaleidoscope offers young people experience in all aspects of the theatre -- acting, directing, costuming, set design, stage management, lighting and sound -- with Playhouse regulars acting as mentors to our young artists. Kaleidoscope is committed to serving the community,  embracing volunteerism, and working together as a team on our productions.

Please join us for online theater classes for ages 5-18!
We will hold a "meet and greet" for all enrolled students Wednesday 6/17 at 1 PM for ages 5-11, and 1:30 PM for ages 12-18.

Musical Theater Audition Technique 
Do you love performing and want to get more experience with auditions? This engaging six-session workshop will delve into audition repertoire, dance calls, and reading audition sides with personalized feedback. This low-stakes environment is the perfect opportunity to grow your skills and learn more about yourself as a performer!
Tuesdays and Thursdays (6/23, 6/25, 6/30, 7/2, 7/7, 7/9)
Ages 8 - 13: 12:00 - 1:45 PM
Ages 14 - 18: 4:15 - 6:00 PM

Summer Fun Broadway Dance Class
Learn to dance like your favorite Broadway stars! In this high energy six-session workshop, you will get to learn a different dance to a song from a Broadway musical each class. Work on improving dance skills, picking up choreography, or just have a blast dancing with us!
Three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (6/22, 6/24, 6/26, 6/29, 7/1, 7/3)
Ages 6 - 13: 10:00 - 11:00 AM
Cost: $90

Storybook Theater Workshop 
Bring your favorite storybook characters to life through the magic of theater! In this enchanting six-session workshop, you’ll learn fun theater games, explore characters from various stories, and even have a chance to write your own creative ending to the stories. Perfect for children with a big imagination who love to play and create! Twice a week: Tuesday and Thursday (6/23, 6/25, 6/30, 7/2, 7/7, 7/9)
Ages 5 - 9:  2:30 - 4:00 PM
Cost: $90

Dancing Through the Decades 
Class Description: Join us to learn exciting dances from different eras! Each class will focus on a dance combination from a new decade, incorporating dance steps and music from that time period. Perfect for anyone looking to brush up their dance skills, guarantees lots of variation in class!
Three times a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (6/22, 6/24, 6/26, 6/29, 7/1, 7/3)

Musical Theater College Audition Panel 
Class Description: Are you a high school student looking to major in musical theatre in college? Learn all about the college audition process from students who have actually been through it! Everything from prescreens and auditions to results and choosing a school as well as a Q&A. Students and parents welcome!

INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Matthew Green is ecstatic to be at the Summit Playhouse this summer! A sophomore at Temple University, he is currently studying Musical Theater with a minor in Dance. With extensive experience both on stage and off, he has directed A Year with Frog and Toad, High School Musical Jr., and Grease at the Summit Playhouse, and directed and choreographed for Pebble Players annual cabarets. A graduate of Millburn High School, he served as president of Drama Club and Soulfege A Cappella, as well as being a member of the Peer Leaders program. He was a theater student at Papermill Playhouse for nearly a decade, where he also interned for several of their education classes. With a strong belief in the power of theater, Matthew is thrilled to explore this new medium of performance with you this summer!
  
Alexa Kerner is thrilled to be back with The Summit Playhouse! She is currently studying theatre and Eastern philosophy at New York University. Starting from a very young age, she has studied dance at Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway. Additionally, she is currently working toward her Yoga Teacher Certification. She has worked with The Summit Playhouse for the past two summers choreographing A Year With Frog and Toad, High School Musical, and Grease. Favorite Theatre Credits include: Shrek the Musical (NETworks/Dreamworks National Tour), The Wolves (Swing, Syracuse Stage), A Chorus Line (Val), The Drowsy Chaperone (Janet Van De Graaff), and Bring it On (Eva). She cannot wait to meet all of you this summer! 

Anna Jeffries is a graduate of Oak Knoll School and will be studying Musical Theater at the University of Tampa in the Fall. She is thrilled to be back at the Summit Playhouse, this summer teaching dance! Anna is a member of Dance Innovations’ Performance Company with whom she has danced at Carnegie Hall, Disneyworld, Universal Studios, and Lincoln Center. Anna was most recently seen as Tanya in Mamma Mia! with Pebble Players and Patty in Grease at The Summit Playhouse. Anna also played Bielke in Fiddler in the Roof at Oak Knoll and showcased her dancing as a cheerleader in Heathers with Pebble Players. Anna is so excited to work with everyone this summer and bring some theater to quarantine!
